Moving Arts is the first to perform the work outside of the NW Dance Project (2010) in Portland, OR. The work won both the Sadler's Wells Global Dance Prize in 2011 and the Audience Prize at the 25th Hannover International Choreography Competition (Europe's most established competition). The work was performed as part of the London 2012 Olympic Arts Festival with Sadler's Wells Sampled. The piece was performed at the Hannover Opera House in Germany to standing ovations.
Kristopher Estes-Brown, through his unique aesthetic, creates theatrical productions that are an experience beyond dance. The contemporary dance idiom is expanded to explore the nature of the 21st-century world. Limits of movement are explored as a method to evoke human understanding while searching out an experience of dance and imagery that is visceral and involuntary.
Kansas City mainstay and artistic director of Owen/Cox Dance Group Jennifer Owen returns for a 7th season to create a new work for summer 2019. Jennifer is known for her variety of choreography and wonderful collaborations around the city.
Emily Mistretta puts her unique voice into the mix by presenting her very first work for Moving Arts. Current dancer with Kansas City Ballet, Emily’s choreography is gathering local and national recognition as a demanded up and coming choreographer.
